  • switches: akko rosewoods
  • keycaps: "white jade" mda profile
  • knob?: yes!!

betty was the first keyboard i ever bought (that was actually hot-swappable). i named her betty after betty white, because she's all white now lol. between the foam, tape, and the rosewood switches, she sounds nice and thocky. her keycaps have sort of a satin texture to them and are lower than most of the others i have. she's a joy to type on :')

  • size: 65%
  • base: epomaker aula win68
  • switches: stock wing chuns; i have gateron magnetic jades for her too but didn't like the resistance on them
  • keycaps: "milk cover" xda profile
  • knob?: no :c
  • dampening: case foam, tape mod on pcb
  • special: i applied yellow and white check contact paper to puddin's case. she has a bright-pastel primary color scheme now that i love looking at!!

the flat-topped profile of puddin's keycaps kind of trip me up, but she is still nice and fast. i didn't expect magnetic switches to make so much of a difference! i still need to add some padding in her space bar, it's a little hollow sounding. i plan to get a cute pompompurin keychain strap to replace the fabric strap that came with her originally.

  • size: 65%
  • base: epomaker ek68
  • switches: glorious pandas
  • keycaps: taro moa profile
  • knob?: yes!!
  • dampening: case foam, tape mod on pcb, foam inside spacebar
  • special: i applied woodgrain contact paper to taro's case :)

taro was my first board with tactile switches and i love her so much!! she was also my first time playing with contact paper on keyboard cases -- the application on her isn't 100% perfect but i think she looks really cool and i like it a lot better than the slate grey she was before. i have a replacement knob in the mail for her right now. it's purple and hopefully it'll match her keycaps well :)

  • size: full
  • base: newmen
  • switches: holy pandas
  • keycaps: voynich manuscript cherry profiles
  • knob?: SIGH no
  • dampening: none in this guy...i wanted it to look, feel, and sound like a bunch of symbols stuck into a wooden board lol
  • special: i applied woodgrain contact paper to the wizard's case too!!

the wizard is loud as hell, but also fast. they're currently my only fullsize keyboard; i got this one because i'd found the keycaps and was like "well i obviously have to be able to display all of these, they need a fullsize keyboard." they're a little wonky to fit on my current desk setup but i love them. i got these keycaps because the grimoire in the writing project i'm working on right now is partially inspired by the voynich manuscript.

there are more keyboards that i want to build in the future, but i have to wait and save the money. these include:

the swordfish III: inspired by spike spiegel's ship, the swordfish II
muthr: inspired by the casette futurism of alien, the interior of the nostromo
latte: i found a board with a translucent brown case that reminds me of iced coffee; i want to build one inspired by a creamy latte
gengar: a translucent purple board inspired by my old gameboy color
!! wu zetian!!: a wooden and brass board with "jade" keycaps and ornate chinese pillar spacebar. this is by far the fanciest one i have in mind and the one i'm most excited for
